Environmental issues and Global Warming

Global Warming

Global warming is one of the biggest concerns in the 21st century. The problems of climate change are here and people are increasingly facing the fear of losing the environment. Man made calamities are on the rise. Air pollution is a significant problem in growing economies. Our country of Denmark also has its own inhibitions. We are the leading the climate action plan with significant laws to mitigate the crisis. The parliament recently voted to make its carbon reduction plan law. Denmark has one of the most aggressive climate plans of any country, aiming to reduce emissions to 70% of its 1990 carbon levels within 10 years.

How can we contribute

As the youth we can contribute in reducing our carbon footprint. As the saying goes, charity begins from home. If you are diligent right from the beginning then the problems will not become an increasing concern. You can start small by

  • Installing solar panels for power.
  • Using bamboo or wooden products instead of Plastics.
  • Altering your diet to healthy alternatives.
  • Avoiding the use of single use plastics.
  • Reducing the consumption of water for cleaning purposes whenever possible.

A better future

The future seems bright if we can bring about the necessary changes. This must be a year of dialogue, when we come together to discuss our priorities as a human family, and how we can build a better future for all. Today, progress is being made in many places, but, overall, action to meet the Goals is not yet advancing at the speed or scale required. 2020 needs to usher in a decade of ambitious action to deliver the Goals by 2030.
